About Us
As an independent retailer Chevin Trek can offer the best from all outdoor brands and we are able to offer products to you chosen by merit alone. Unlike many multiples, Chevin Trek is not governed by a central buying policy and will always seek to 'cherry pick' the best of the outdoor equipment available to give a wide range and varied choice.
When you're in Yorkshire come along to the shop and meet us! We're not just a faceless warehouse that ships internet orders, we actually talk to customers every day and know what they want - after all we've been doing it for 20 years and we'd love to meet you!
Chevin Trek also specialise in stocking out of season products so if you are planning a winter sun holiday or a mountaineering or ski trip in the summer months we will still have equipment in stock for you. Please contact us for you specific outdoor equipment requirements and to see what we have in stock.
In particular Chevin Trek tries to stock outdoor equipment which is not available everywhere, often something unusual and irresistible! Plus Chevin Trek are always willing to order that single item you require, with quick delivery to your door.
Chevin Trek is based in Otley, a small market town in West Yorkshire, between Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, Skipton and close to Ilkley. Chevin Trek is surrounded by excellent walking country such as the 'Chevin' Hill behind the shop, Ilkley Moor, the Wharfedale and Washburn valleys and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. So why not stop for a walk when you visit us. Each year Otley is also home to the Otley Walking Festival now in its 10th year and famed for its unique blend of walking and non-walking entertainment related to the outdoors during its 9 day period.
Our staff are all regular walkers who test the outdoor clothing and equipment they sell and are able to give unbiased and informative advice. Indeed we enjoy the chance to pass on our knowledge. Our business has grown by 'word of mouth' recommendation over the last 20 years and we feel that advertising doesn't come any better than that.

Chevin Trek are delighted to be involved in promoting this initiative, making towns across the UK great places to explore on foot. Otley in West Yorkshire, where our shop is based, has become a "Walkers are Welcome" community and Chevin Trek is happy to support this venture - and to supply walkers all over the UK with the equipment and clothing to get out there and enjoy our countryside.
